The Prodigy update is here! Season 25 is packed with updates to improve gameplay, introduce new features, and keep the Outlands fresh. Let’s dive into the full patch notes covering everything from anti-cheat improvements to new mechanics, including balance updates, new Legends, and quality of life changes.
ANTI-CHEAT
Respawn has been focusing on iterative improvements in anti-cheat measures across various fronts, including internal cheat detection, automated solutions, and third-party interventions. The results have been promising, especially in Ranked matches, where efforts against teaming have been fruitful. They’ve also ramped up efforts to combat bot activity, which should already be noticeable in your matches. The studio continues to monitor and address bugs, exploits, and prevention measures with updates.
Additionally, Report Action Feedback continues to work well for identifying cheaters—keep submitting in-game reports!
AUDIO IMPROVEMENTS
Respawn is dedicated to improving audio reliability, especially for PC Players. The new diagnostic system will look for audio issues like dropped footsteps and will offer players the option to upload a detailed audio report when issues are detected. This data is completely anonymous and helps Respawn diagnose and fix audio-related issues.
MATCHMAKING
Season 25 focuses on improving matchmaking quality in Ranked by refining region population management and leveraging skill values. The goal is to reduce queue times for high-skilled players while maintaining balanced matches.
Key Changes:
- Initial Rank Placement now depends on a player’s skill value rather than the RP they earned at the end of the previous season.
- High-Skilled Lobbies: Players in Platinum, Diamond, and Masters (including Predator) will experience longer queue times while Respawn finds closer skill matches.
- Population Management will auto-merge players from regions with smaller player pools, improving matchmaking quality.
Arenas (LTM)
- Classic Arenas: Back at the start of the season for a 3v3 deathmatch, where you prepare a loadout, face off against youropponents, and battle through intense rounds.
- New in May: On May 20th, expect a refreshed Arenas with new mechanics focused on combat, firepower, and strategy. Say goodbye to Supply Bins and try new loadout combinations. A 1v1 variant called Arenas: Duels will also arrive later in the season.
DEATH BY DESIGN (Limited-Time Event)
From May 6 to June 24, 2025, players can unlock exclusive skins through the Death By Design event. Completing challenges will unlock Death By Design packs, which contain rare cosmetics, including Pathfinder’s “Belva Bruisers” and a Legendary G7 Scout skin called Crested Vanguard.
