It’s cybernetic supremacy versus the raw power of nature in the new Apex Legends Wild Iron event. From Mythic weapons to Wild Cards and explosive loot, this update is set to be one of the most chaotic and fun events yet.
Wildcard goes wild
Rampart and Fuse have teamed up to deliver the ultimate weapon: the Mythic Flatline. This new version of the Flatline comes with two devastating abilities. Knocked enemies turn into ticking time bombs, and every 5th bullet fired deals double damage with an AOE blast. If your teammate gets knocked with the bomb debuff, pick them up before it detonates to defuse it.
That’s not all. From September 16 to September 30, Wildcard loot will get even more explosive. EPG-1 grenade launchers can be found in Mythic bins, and Bocek spawn rates have been increased to fuel the carnage.
Players can also craft one of eight new Wild Cards in Replicators to gain a powerful edge over rival squads:
- Crackerjack: instantly reload weapon on knock
- Down Bad: enemies explode when knocked
- Extra Ordnance: carry +1 ordnance
- Good Doctor: revive squadmates with additional shields
- Gren-Aid: mark enemies damaged by your explosives
- SentPacking: frag grenade knockback is increased
- Shield’s Up: gain Epic level shield
- Stowed Reload: stowed weapon auto-reloads after several seconds
Event skins and rewards

Wild Iron Event Packs are your ticket to the new cosmetics. Each pack contains one event item and two standard items, with no duplicates for event items. You’ll be able to collect new Legendary Skins for Lifeline, Pathfinder, and Vantage, along with Legendary weapon skins for the Mastiff, Bocek, and Nemesis. The Mythic Flatline, inspired by Fuse, is the ultimate chase item.
In addition to packs, players can earn Cores by completing daily event challenges. These can be spent in the Wild Iron Reward Shop, which includes four event badges and rotating offerings. The shop will refresh halfway through the event, adding even more rewards like charms and additional badges.

Game stability improvements
Respawn is also improving the backend with a major stability upgrade. Steam Datagram Relay (SDR) has been reintegrated with GameLift servers to combat DoS attacks. SDR is now active in 100% of Diamond and Masters ranked matches, resulting in a ~90% drop in suspected DoS attacks.
Tests have shown promising results in Asia and Australia, with SDR now slowly rolling out to lower-ranked and unranked matches in those regions. Respawn will continue expanding coverage while monitoring network conditions like packet loss and latency.
The Wild Iron event is more than just new loot and skins—it’s a full-scale shake-up that combines flashy rewards, new mechanics, and stronger protections against cheaters.
