Respawn has officially migrated Apex Legends’ infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS GameTech). This is a major backend change aimed at:
- Improving flexibility in server monitoring and deployment
- Fixing regional issues faster
- Reducing occurrences of rubberbanding, desyncs, and poor hit reg
Since the transition, Respawn says there’s already been a noticeable drop in game server performance degradation, specifically:
- Rubberbanding
- Hit registration inconsistencies
- Packet loss and server latency issues
While this doesn’t guarantee better performance for every player — connection quality is still unique to your setup — it’s a strong step forward in Apex’s live service future.
