Respawn just dropped a massive mid-season update and it’s loaded with free packs, easy challenge tricks, new balance changes, and a refreshed take on Solos mode. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to grind Apex Legends this week — this is it.
Here’s everything you need to know, including how to get your 20 free Apex Packs, what’s new in the patch notes, and when the next set of packs is dropping.
🎁 23 Free Packs – Easy Trick to Claim Them Fast
Respawn released the final creator challenge set yesterday, and if you complete all five challenges, you’ll earn 20 Apex Packs plus a free skin. There’s also a tracker gifting challenge, which lets you earn an extra 3 packs, bringing the total to 23.
✅ Easiest Challenges:
- Gift the Tracker Set to a friend (or yourself through a second account)
- Play 5 matches of Solos or 5 as an Assault Legend
- Restore 1000 health (counts passively in Mixtape)
💣 Trick for Grenade and Shotgun Damage:
You can complete grenade and health challenges in Mixtape, not just Battle Royale. This makes it way easier since:
- You spawn with grenades
- Healing ticks automatically
- No downtime between fights
You can realistically finish everything in about an hour if you focus.
💎 Heirloom Shards From Free Packs?
Yes, it’s possible — and it happened. Grrt, who completed all the challenges, scored Heirloom Shards from these free packs. If you haven’t been lucky yet, don’t worry— another 20-pack event starts April 15 and runs until April 28. That one will feature the Tombstick Mastiff skin.
⚔️ Solos Mode Update – Now with Respawns
Solos returned this week with a big change:
- Everyone carries 1 respawn token, usable only once.
- Tokens don’t drop from enemies — once it’s gone, it’s gone.
- No death boxes — enemies drop loot instantly on the ground (faster flow).
- P2020s spawn as Akimbo only, which should honestly be permanent.
Bad news? The 20-bomb badge isn’t enabled in Solos, so don’t grind for it there — it won’t count.
