It’s halfway into Season 27, and mid-season updates are here. They’re not as significant as the beginning of the season, but some changes might reshape how meta looks in 2026.

For competitive players, knowing the meta list is crucial. Nerfs and buffs can be a game-changer. It’s like entering freeroll poker tournaments when you’re an advanced poker player. Which means, it’s time you take advantage of the buffs and polish your gameplay.

Octane, Crypto, and Newcastle are among the biggest benefactors from the latest patch notes. Meanwhile, Valkyrie, Rampart, and Horizon are still some of the best Legends this season. So, how would the S-Tier look in Season 27?

Valkyrie (Recon)

So far, no one has yet dethroned Valkyrie as one of the strongest legends. Her buffs significantly reduce her weaknesses, so it’ll be hard to one-up Valkyrie.

Her jetpack recharge might be the one with the biggest buff. It’s no longer sluggish; the recharge is now nearly instant, allowing players to do micro-adjustments in fights. Valkyrie’s mobility also gives unpredictability as she can attack from unexpected directions, especially around Olympus’ vertical spaces and tall points

Now, Valkyrie can also fire her tactical missiles mid-air. It’ll then scan the area to disrupt enemies while giving you a way to inform your team of further strategy.

Her ultimate ability can also be activated faster now, reducing activationrisk. So, you can quickly move your whole team to safer or better positioning more reliably. For now, Valkyrie remains a popular choice, especially among competitive teams.

Horizon (Skirmisher)

Horizon came back with a faster Gravity Lift. In addition, the lower cooldown makes sure you can take advantage of the ability more often, giving your team better positioning in fights. She can quickly help you regain the high ground, break defense, or pursue weakened escaping enemies.

Her ultimate ability is now more durable, so opponents can’t disrupt her easily. If they want to destroy her Black Hole, they need to commit resources more intently, which gives your team more time to attack.

She also comes with helpful new perks, like Newt Scoot and Gravity Boots. These improve how she moves mid-air, giving you unique control over vertical movement. Only Horizon comes with this unique mobility control so far.

Horizon also has a stable pick rate. When it comes to manipulating fights, Horizon still comes out on top in Season 27.

Rampart (Controller)

Among the reworks that Rampart had gotten so far, this season gave her the biggest improvements. Her Amped Cover can now scale with the Evo level. It offers full protection while giving her teammates a sprint speed boost from the stored wall damage. This way, your defense also works as an aggressive push.

Rampart is also unmatched when it comes to space control. Her hybrid style lets her anchor positions while chasing teams who are trying to escape.

Unlike the two Legends before her on this list, Rampart doesn’t really have a stable pick rate. However, her win rate shows that she has the potential for players who know how to utilize her well.

Revenant (Assault)

Revenant wasn’t considered one of the S-tier legends before, as he was nerfed considerably. However, he once again claimed the top spot in Season 27 after gaining several buffs. Now, his Overshield ultimate is extremely strong, especially for 1v1. Players who want to be on the offense can benefit greatly from Revenant to take control of the fight in the early game.

Revenant is also known for his precision. Players who know how to utilize him often dominate isolated fights. He also consistently obtains a high pick rate with an excellent win rate.

Notable Buffed A-Tier

Although there are only a few legends that came out on S-Tier for this Season 27 after getting buffed, there are several other legends that are climbing the tier list.

Seer (Recon)

Season 27 gave him faster charge time, so you can use his ultimate more quickly. This gives you increased visibility so you can organize your team better, especially to manage low-health players. You might judge Seer’s low pick rate, but if you know how to use him, he can be highly effective and impactful.

Newcastle (Support)

Newcastle’s pick rate might be alarmingly low, but his win rate is extremely high. This is because players who know how to use him take full advantage of his enormous defensive value. You can use him to relocate downed teammates, and his anchor compounds are only second to Rampart. In addition, mid-season buffs gave Newcastle a speed increase.
