Note: Updated 21/7/2025 (Season 25)

In apex legends season 25, the weapon sandbox is more diverse than ever — but not all guns are created equal. Whether you’re looking for the most reliable weapons to carry you through Ranked or just want to avoid wasting time looting trash-tier loot, HisWattson’s tier list gives a brutally honest look at what’s working and what’s falling flat in the current meta.

Here’s your full breakdown of every gun ranked from S to F-tier for Season 25.

🟨 S-Tier – Absolute Best in Class

These weapons are undeniably powerful, usable in almost every situation, and worth building your loadout around.

  • G7 Scout – Almost no recoil, great headshot multiplier, and deadly across all ranges. Possibly the best gun in the game right now.
  • Nemesis Burst AR – Minimal recoil and melts when charged. Trades burst control with high DPS.
  • P2020 – Surprisingly dominant. Forgiving, fast, and top-tier for non-Assault classes.
  • R-99 SMG (Care Package) – Insane close-range DPS, best used by Assault legends with fast reload perks.
  • Peacekeeper (Care Package) – Best-in-slot for close-range. Versatile, reliable, and easy to fit into any loadout.
  • Kraber .50-Cal Sniper (Care Package) – Still one-shot potential at long range, but harder to slot than the PK.

🟧 A-Tier – Great, with Some Situational Tradeoffs

Strong picks across the board, especially with the right setup or synergy.

  • Devotion LMG – Solid, especially when paired with Ballistic or turbocharged.
  • Rampage LMG – Reliable and powerful. Performs great with Ballistic synergy.
  • 30-30 Repeater –Good in very high-skill lobbies; strong poke but situational.
  • Prowler Burst PDW – Decent early game, not common in late-game metas.
  • Triple Take – Good poke, comes with a gun shield. Without it, this would be B-tier.
  • RE-45 Auto – Early game brawler. Slightly underrated but outclassed late.
  • Bocek Compound Bow – High potential with frags, but ammo economy is rough.
  • M600 Spitfire – Good for Ballistic users. Outclassed by Rampage and Nemesis otherwise.

🟨 B-Tier – Usable, But You’re Sacrificing Meta Edge

Guns that are viable, but you’ll notice missed kills or tougher fights.

  • VK-47 Flatline – Decent, but outclassed in close-range by the P2020 and R-99.
  • Volt SMG – Feels great but lacks the raw damage to compete with the meta.
  • Wingman – Inconsistent but serviceable. Wins some key duels due to strafe matchups.
  • Sentinel – Inconsistent and situational. Reward doesn’t always justify risk.

🟫 C-Tier – Losing Fights You Should Win

These weapons are generally outclassed, but still salvageable in certain contexts.

  • HAVOC Rifle – Charge time and recoil make it hard to justify. Not great in any role.
  • R-301 Carbine – Easy to use, but lacks damage. Feels like a “noob safety pick.”
  • Hemlok Burst AR – Low damage and inconsistent. Not worth it even with buffs.
  • C.A.R. SMG – Low DPS and outclassed by Volt and R-99.
  • Alternator SMG – Fine on drop, but weak in mid- or late-game.
  • Mastiff Shotgun – Only really useful on Sparrow. Outclassed in most fights.

🟥 D-Tier – Just Drop It

If you’re running these, it’s either out of desperation or poor RNG.

  • Longbow DMR – Entirely outclassed by the G7 Scout.
  • Mozambique Shotgun – Nerfed too hard. Akimbo versions are worse than P2020.
  • L-STAR EMG – Lacks damage, visual clutter hurts aim, and no real use case.
  • Charge Rifle – Completely unviable outside of 100m+. Long-range playstyle is losing meta.
  • EVA-8 AutoLiterally the worst gun in the game. Just don’t.

🔻 Special Mention: The “Worst Gun of All Time” Award

🏆 EVA-8 Auto
This weapon has fallen so far it’s in a tier of its own. Weak damage, unreliable, and completely outclassed. No situation justifies picking it unless you’re truly desperate off-drop.

🔚 Final Thoughts

The Apex Season 25 meta is all about low recoil, mid-range dominance, and hard-hitting close-range options. The G7 Scout and Nemesis lead the charge, while P2020 and R-99 dominate CQC fights. If you’re not running at least one gun from the S or A tier, you’re likely handicapping your loadout.

Stay smart, loot well, and don’t even look at the EVA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What’s the best close-range gun in Season 25?
A: Either the R-99 SMG (for Assault Players) or the P2020. Both are top-tier and dominate 1v1s.

Q: What’s the best all-around weapon?
A: The G7 Scout. It’s effective at all ranges, low recoil, and rewards accuracy.

Q: Is the Wingman still viable?
A: Kind of. It sits in low B-tier — not the best, but usable in early- to mid-game.

Q: Why is the EVA-8 Auto rated so poorly?
A: It’s outclassed in every way. Terrible damage, slow TTK, and zero reliability. Just avoid it.

Q: Should I ever pick up the Charge Rifle?
A: Only if you’re playing a long-range camp game (which is weak right now). It’s out of the meta.
