Apex Legends players have much to look forward to with a brand new update addressing some of the game’s most frustrating issues. This update arrives just in time as today marks the last day of the Temporal Chaos Collection Event. If you’ve been eyeing the Bangalore heirloom recolor, this is your final chance to grab it directly before it returns as an heirloom reward, available only if you have shards.
Temporal Chaos Event: Last Chance for Exclusive Rewards
Today is your last opportunity to enjoy the Temporal Chaos Collection Event, which brought a host of new content to Apex Legends. Players have been diving into the event to unlock exclusive cosmetics and participate in unique game modes. Notably, the Bangalore heirloom recolor has been a major draw, but once the event concludes, it will only be obtainable through heirloom shards.
Additionally, this is the final week to play the Straight Shot Rumble mode, where you can still earn Rank Rumble badges. With only one week left, now is the time to dive in before this mode disappears from the game.
What’s Coming Next: Duos Mode and New Store Skins
Exciting news for fans of Duos mode! Next week, Duos will make a return as a limited-time mode, running until September 17th. While it’s disappointing that this mode won’t become a permanent fixture, its return is sure to be a hit. Alongside the Duos mode, players can look forward to a new store sale featuring vampire-themed skins for Bloodhound and Revenant. As Halloween approaches, these dark and eerie designs are perfectly timed.
The store will also see the return of the Blood Moon collection, bringing back popular skins for Horizon, Loba, and Wraith. These returning skins are a part of the Academy Collection, which will be available until the next store sale launches.
Key Bug Fixes in the Latest Update
This latest Apex Legends update is set to address several persistent issues that have been plaguing the game. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s being fixed:
- Loss of Input on PC: Players who alt-tab out and back into the game on PC have experienced loss of input. This update aims to resolve that issue.
- Mouse Tracking on PC: Some players reported their mouse not tracking camera movement properly, which is also set to be fixed.
- R-99 as Ground Loot: The R-99 SMG will be adjusted to be found as ground loot again.
- Persistent Map Icons: Map object icons that fail to disappear after interaction will now be addressed.
- Challenge Fix: A challenge requiring players to revive squad members 30 times tagged as “NVR” is being fixed, particularly since this isn’t possible with the removal of Arenas mode.
- Premium Battle Pass Display Issue: On consoles, Premium Plus shows the full rate for those with a premium battle pass—this has been acknowledged and is in line to be fixed.
While these fixes are welcome, several other issues remain, such as audio problems and hit registration (“hit reg”) inconsistencies, which continue to frustrate players. These issues likely won’t see resolution until a future update, possibly in Season 23.
Upcoming Content and Events
Looking ahead, players should prepare for the next Rumble event, scheduled from September 13th to 17th, coinciding with the end of Split 1 Ranked. This is your last chance to grind for a high placement before the season concludes. Following that, the next Milestone event is expected to drop, featuring new rewards, including a highly anticipated Horizon skin.
Additionally, the Split 2 Playoffs will take place in Manheim, Germany, featuring top pro teams competing. Fans can tune in on Twitch to follow the action.
